| So, I'm leaving for school in two days instead of one. I'm most likely taking the train, which should be fun. My dad's in the hospital, which isn't fun. I can't really think straight. I just want to get to school.

| So, this week was Bless the City.
Tuesday night was just registration and a service. It was fun, though. Got there and did my thing and then played some hacky sack (sp). None of use were too fantastic, so I fit right in. That night, I slept over at Jessica's house. We watched some Monk and went to bed really late :p She went to sleep before I did. I turned in at about 2:30. My asthma freaked out from their dog, which stunk.
Then..Wednesday, we had a morning workshop and did prayer walks around the city. We had lunch, and then did our big project which was prettying up a house that got overgrown with weeds and stuff. We moved, got rid of the weeds, threw away a ton of trash and planted flowers. It looks great, now. Then, dinner and church and back home.
Now Thursday. Walked there from home, and hung out with Jeff for a while. I also had coffee that morning which was lovely. Jess and Matt got there and we were all chillin'. Had our morning workshop and got into groups for Random Acts of Kindness. Then we brainstormed what random acts we were going to do. My group decided on a free lemonade and water stand in the park. Then we had lunch. This time, the group of us got pizza, which was totally fun. After lunch, we went to the Citezen's Center and organized the giveaway stuff. That was fun too. I carted a ton of tuna from one place to another on a dolly.
And finally, today was the block party. I went to the cafe this morning for breakfast, then we went to park. Found out what I was going to be doing during the giveaway and helped do some last minute stuff in the center. Then we hung out a little bit and I got to work. I did face painting, which weas fun. I did several Spiderman's, Spongebob Characters, and the hardest one was probably a dragon. I didn't want to disappoint the little boy, and he said he could draw a dragon so I said I'd copy his drawing. Copy-wise, it turned out pretty well. However, He drew it standing up when he was looking at it, but when I saw it, it was sideways, so that's how I painted it. He saw it and laughed saying "You did it sideways!" I felt so bad, but then I said maybe he could be flying. The boy was okay with that and said I could draw a little wing on it. So I did, and he liked it just fine. The funniest one was a older guy (who was still lively, if you know what I mean) who wanted a green peace sign on his arm. I saw him later during the giveaway and he flashed his arm to me with a grin saying he had his ID.
About one o'clock, I went to eat and just chill before doing the giveaway. I was to hand people bags as they entered the new section. It was fun, but by the end I was beat. But it was really good. I had fun with Matt and Jess and the other people from youth group. Got lots of pictures and scored a magled box of mac and cheese and a bent can of tomato soup.

| So, thus far, it has been a better week.
Yesterday, I cleaned the kitchen floor and tidied up my room and took care of IT'S floor. I also finished baking stuff and bought party stuff to send my friends in New York. I packed up the boxes and got them completely ready to mail. I also went on my walk (it wasn't as long as I would have liked, but I had to stop because heat+sweat+eczema=BAD NEWS).
Today, I went to the eye doctor and got fill out forms all by myself (Since I'm 18, I get to skip a bunch of information..it's kinda weird.) My eye doctor was really friendly and made it so that I could get my new glasses in a few days instead of a couple months. The guy in the "glasses section" was also very friendly. He was a big factor in choosing the frames I decided on. It was funny...when he asked me where I was going to college, I was like, "Mt. Zion International School of Ministry" and he's like.."Oh...cool." Some silence. My mom goes to call my dad and he asks me what I study at school. I told him that it's pretty much all Bible classes and he was pretty surprised (I think he was trying really hard to not sound like he was judging me...lol). I told him that this year I'd learn how to write sermons but everything is pretty much Bible-themed. Some more silence (during the silence he's working on the whole "glasses receipt" thing.
Well, then he asked why I chose to go to MZ and I told him straight up that it was where I felt God wanted me to be. He was a bit surprised and I said I really liked it, and he's like, "Hey, that's what's important, right? If you like it, who cares what other people think?" Yeah. So it was fun. Hopefully, I'll get my glasses on Monday.
Sooooo....so, so then we mailed the boxes! I'm so excited about them! I baked the interns in NY a bunch of dark chocolate chip brownies and M&M sugar cookies. Then, in a smaller box, I put some party plates, napkins, streamers, balloons, plastic blingy rings, plastic pirate eye patches and pirate earrings, starbursts, crazy skittles, and kool-aid mixes for waterbottles. I'm pretty psyched, and I think they'll love it.
Then we came home and chilled. After we chilled we went to the library. Guess who we saw there? Samantha! We went and said hi and then the young adult group and Rory and Krystal's came up and I was like, "Let's go!" so we went to that and it was ok. At about 8:30, Sam was like, "When does Starbucks close?" I'm like, "9...let's go!!!" So we went to Starbucks and she had mentioned that she wanted to go to Denny's at Mindnight and I was like, heck yes!, but that wouldn't work out. By the time we left Starbucks (she basically got a grande for the price of a tall and I got a free extra shot..sweeeeet) I was like, "Let's go to Denny's anyway! We can share something!" So we did! We shared a plate of nachos which is labeled an appetizer, but it was totally a meal. Totally fun.
So...Monday and Tuesday have been good. Tomorrow night, Bless the City starts and I'm sleeping over at Jessica's house (she's a girl at youth group..I haven't slept over at someone's house in years). It's kinda odd cuz..I think she's like, 14, but it's cool. Bless the City should be fun, too. It goes until Friday night and the on Saturday there's a big block party. BTC is like a home missions trip where we do random acts of kindness and pray for the city and listen to people preach and stuff. I did it a few years ago when it was called Chain Reaction.
Yeah. So this weeks looks pretty good to me. I'm glad :) God knows how to make us happy.
EDIT: Also!! While I was talking to my friend Jackie, I packed my big suitcase with clothes and some shoes AND wrote a list of all that is in there. And! I put all my laundry out in it's respective piles to be washed. yay!
16 days until I go back to MZ!

| So, I just have to put my whining into words and say that the past week was a total fail. Lost my glasses in the ocean on Monday to kick everything off, began the most boring VBS experience of my life on Monday night (I was helping out with the registration table), woke up late every day for the rest of the week - late enough that I couldn't get stuff done but could still go to VBS, had to pay a 20 dollar library fee on Wednesday, still had to go to VBS and was the most tired after the cafe than I've ever been on Saturday. The only good things that happened were I read my Bible during all my free time at VBS, had fun on Saturday night at youth group, and...I did have fun with Sam on Monday at the beach before my glasses got eaten by a shark or something.
So yeah. I'm hoping this week is better.
Back to school in 18 days.

| We went to camp today. The two services were really good. Talked to some people - everyone seems pretty ready to go home.
I told my mom - I can't shake it. During chapel in the pines, I couldn't help but hear something in my head, and then consider and make possible paths and notice how I had instinctive thoughts about certain actions. Don't you love the vague train? I do.
Well, I'm glad that I've taken my hands off.
